Behold! My ID!

An original character, named Mortimer "Dead Red" Jansen.

The "Dead Red" nickname comes from his red hair, as well as the strange fact that when he sleeps, he loses all color from his already pale face. This, combined with his unsettling habit of falling asleep with his eyes still open, creates the appearance of a genuinely dead man.

Many unwary travelers that saw him sleeping on the side of the road thought that they had stumbled on a dead body. Naturally, they would step a bit closer to investigate why there was a corpse laying peacefully by the side of the road unattended, but due to the fact that Dead Red is also an incredibly light sleeper, they soon found themselves in the disturbing situation of being robbed by someone that they thought was dead, with most of the victims reporting that Red told them that it was "the price" for disturbing his nap.

Poor saps. How were they to know?
